Running – Info & Packing List
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Packing List
We run only during daylight and in all weather conditions unless the trails become impassable. Nights and mornings can be cool, especially in mountainous areas where mist is common. During the day, temperatures range from warm to hot, with the sun sometimes being quite intense. At higher elevations, cloud cover may help moderate the heat, creating comfortable running conditions for wearing a t-shirt and shorts.
Please bring clothing suitable for all conditions. Out of respect for the communities we pass through, we require that shirts be worn at all times—singlets are acceptable, but jog-bras are not.
You will carry what you need for each running day. In addition to water and snacks, you should bring essentials such as sunscreen, rain gear, and other necessary items.
This is not a comprehensive packing list, but here are specific items we recommend for running in Tanzania. Be sure to pack enough for the 8-day run, as well as for the days before and after at the Babylon Lodge.
