Great Migration Adventure at Mara River

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! A Rocky Africa & Eco Experience representative will pick you up from the airport and drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may have time to relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your safari guide will collect you from your accommodation. You’ll drive approximately two and a half hours to Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River. The park is known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Lunch will be at a picnic site inside the park. After your game drive, you’ll transit to your accommodation in Karatu.

Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park (Seronera)

Today, you drive through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park. Stop for a game drive along the way, enjoying the stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife. You will stay overnight at Embalakai Serengeti Camp. All meals are provided.

Day 4: Central to Northern Serengeti

You will leave Central Serengeti and head north, driving through prime migration areas. Expect several game drives en route as you search for wildlife, particularly the wildebeest migration and possible river crossings. Your overnight stay will be at Mara Heritage Camp. All meals are included.

Day 5: Northern Serengeti

Spend a full day exploring the Northern Serengeti region, including the Mara River, a key spot for witnessing the dramatic wildebeest migration river crossings. Game drives throughout the day will maximize wildlife viewing opportunities. Return to Mara Heritage Camp for the night. All meals included.

Day 6: Northern to Central Serengeti

Travel back south to Central Serengeti with game drives along the way. Enjoy the vast open plains and abundant wildlife. You will spend the night at Nyota Luxury Camp, enjoying full board meals.

Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Depart Serengeti and head to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. In the afternoon, take a game drive in this unique crater, home to a dense population of wildlife. Overnight at Ngorongoro Marera Mountain View Lodge with all meals provided.

Day 8: Lake Manyara to Arusha

Begin the day with a morning game drive at Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions and flamingos. After a picnic lunch, you’ll be transferred back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward travel.
