Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! A Rocky Africa & Eco Experience representative will pick you up from the airport and drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may have time to relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your safari guide will collect you from your accommodation. You’ll drive approximately two and a half hours to Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River. The park is known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Lunch will be at a picnic site inside the park. After your game drive, you’ll transit to your accommodation in Karatu.

Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you’ll drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a chance to stop and see the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. You’ll then transit to the Serengeti, entering from the south. The Serengeti is famous for its vast open grasslands and abundant wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

Enjoy a full day of game drives in the Serengeti. You can have a relaxed pace with early morning and late afternoon game drives, returning to your accommodation for lunch and relaxation.

Day 5: Central Serengeti to Southern Serengeti & Ndutu

After breakfast, you’ll travel through the Serengeti towards Ndutu, stopping to experience more wildlife along the way. At this time of year, the Great Migration is normally in Southern Serengeti / Ndutu. Ndutu is part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and is known for its alkaline lake and abundant wildlife.

Day 6: Ndutu

After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a full day’s game drive in Ndutu, exploring its swamps, woodlands, and savannah. During the calving season, many female wildebeest give birth to their young, attracting predators like cheetahs, lions, hyenas, and leopards.

Day 7: Ndutu to Ngorongoro Crater

This morning, you’ll travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, seeing more animals along the way. You’ll reach the Crater by lunchtime. The Crater is a pristine wilderness, home to a variety of wildlife, including the endangered black rhino. After an afternoon game drive, you’ll drive to your accommodation in Karatu.

Day 8: Lake Manyara to Arusha

This morning, you’ll drive to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its diverse ecosystems and birdlife. After a game drive and picnic lunch, you’ll be dropped off at a place of your choosing, such as Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport, or Arusha Airport.
